THE ORIGIN AND IMPORTANCE OF

Game Ready Accelerated Development (G.R.A.D)

Introduction

The game is evolving and there are many challenges facing our young athletes. Our society has come to want ALL things in a hurry. From coffee to popcorn, we want it now. The athletic world isn’t all too different. We want players to get better and get better TODAY. #TheProcess has become cliche: a catchphrase that denotes one’s willingness to be patient as things EVOLVE. Having been in realm of training and skill development for nearly two decades WE UNDERSTAND the difference between SAYING something and LIVING something.

 What is the GRAD Academy?

GRAD stands for Game Ready Accelerated Development and it is the most comprehensive in-game basketball development program ever created. It consists of Camps, Clinics, Leagues, etc.

The 8-week GRAD LEAGUE addresses the concerns that many parents of young basketball players, both male and female, deal with in regards to transferring skill into in-game performance. Most leagues often focus on 5 on 5 play at a time when players haven’t developed the necessary individual skillset to be integrated into a team concept. Literally, for many, the equivalence of jumping from simple math to Calculus I.

The GRAD LEAGUE will focus on developing and establishing the what, how, when, and where for our young basketball players!l! Therefore we will have a unique combination of physical (strength and conditioning), skill, and in-game development. Our focus is on increasing the mental, emotional, and basketball IQ of our participants. We will give your young athletes the necessary tools needed to improve in-game performance.

Perhaps the biggest benefit of the GRAD LEAGUE is that EVERYONE will improve at a much faster rate. This is in stark contrast to individual development in the 5 player team, traditional league models. In those models the best player continues to develop while others often stand and watch. Not anymore.

We don’t subscribe to the notion that a person is too young to learn the right way. Because of the way that we teach, development becomes fun for our youth and they develop without even knowing that they are developing. With over 18 years of unique youth development experience we have created a sure fire way to develop the talent of our young players. In addition, we will give them an overall understanding of the game that will allow them to succeed on ANY level.

With that being said we want to make sure that other leagues throughout the city can benefit from our presence. Don’t look at us as competition, but rather, “COMPLIMENTATION” Our goal is to have our players ready to compete in any league as we elevate the overall level of basketball in general.

How will the GRAD League solve the problem?

The GRAD League will focus on NECESSARY skill development (skill that is needed immediately) first. We will then focus on the developing the player understanding and skillset needed for 1 on 1 play, 2 on 2 play, 3 on 3 play, then FINALLY 5 on 5. This equates to more reps. More time on the court. More time with the ball in the hand. EQUAL TIME ON and OFF of the ball. Less standing and watching. Everyone is involved. THIS is methodology is what we have used to help hundreds of athletes garner college scholarships. It worked for them and it will work for your child. The early that you get started with this development process the better.
