Devon Butler is one of the top pro skills development coaches in the world His primary focus is teaching athletes the correct technique specifically when it comes to shooting. He is a former college athlete at Claflin University and Graduate of Southern Polytech University with a bachelors in New Media Arts. He has played professional basketball in numerous countries such as Norway, Germany and Australia. Devon has over 10 years of training experience learning under Head Player Development Coach, Dorian Lee .

Dorian Lee
Head of Player Development/Vertimax Certified

For nearly 2 decades, Dorian Lee has been considered one of the foremost authorities in basketball player development. Having worked with over 4,500 athletes worldwide Dorian’s clientele represents a who’s who of basketball notables that include nationally ranked high school talent, elite college players, International, Olympic, WNBA, and NBA athletes. Dorian’s training is rooted in explosive movement, functional movement (movement that directly impacts in-game performance), quick release shooting,seamless transitional ball handling, explosive post play, and explosive finishing.

Holding a degree in Health Science and a NESTA certified Speed, Agility, and Quickness trainer, Dorian incorporates cutting edge physiological research with his training techniques that offer athletes a complete explanation and understanding of what it is that they do and why it works. Author of two of the best selling instructional DVDs, the Art of the Quick Release and Explosive Finishing Moves.

Dorian’s unique training style and techniques has been sought out by sports agencies and professional athletes from around the entire world. Having trained all levels in 13 countries, Dorian has been lead trainer for professional camps in Spain and France while serving as lead trainer for elite youth camps in Japan, France, Belize, and Colombia. Dorian is also Vertimax certified.

Tessah S. Holt 
Head of Women’s Player Development

One of the biggest pieces to become an industry leading company is the ability to recruit talent. There is no greater example of that than our ability to land Tessah, one of the most talented female player development coaches in the country. Tessah brings a literal trophy case of experience to the table as a player, high school coach, and college coach.

As A Player

Started her collegiate career at the University of Florida before transferring and starting at Boston College where she led her team in assists and 3rd in steals. Tessah finished her collegiate career at the University of West Florida where she completed her Master’s Degree after being named All-GSC First Team and leading UWF in scoring (12.2), field goals made (3.9), 3-pointers made, 3-point field goal percentage (42-101, .416), free throw percentage (.813), assist/turnover ratio (1.67),steals (2.7) while second on the team in rebounding (5.6) and assists (2.1).

Prior to college, Tessah became a state legend after graduating as Fayette County High School’s all-time leader with 1,422 points, 762 assists and steals and guided the Lady Tigers to a 90-27 record during her tenure. Tessah led the squad to three region championships and reach the state title game twice. The Lady Tigers finish her senior season with a program-best 31-1 overall record and she was named the 2009 Georgia Class AAAA Girls’ Basketball Player of the Year by the Georgia Sports Writers Association and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

As A Coach

A standout guard as a collegiate player, Tessah joined Coach Midlick’s staff at Austin Peay in 2015. Tessah’s primary focus was coaching Austin Peay’s point guards and recruiting. before leaving to serve as the Associate Head Coach of her high school alma mater alongside the Legendary John Strickland as he battled cancer.  Tessah took over as Head Coach following Coach Strickland’s passing.

At West Florida Tessah was the women’s basketball graduate assistant in 2014-15. She helped the Argonauts post a 20-9 record last season and reach the Division II South Region semifinal.

Devonte Butler
Director of Player Engagement & Skills Trainer

Devonte Butler a graduate of Morehouse College 2020 continues to develop and engage with the youth and members of Evolve physically and digitally. After a good High School career at Loganville Christian Academy Devonte went on to play at Ohlone College where he averaged 11.2 ppg and 4.4 ast before heading to Morehouse College for the next 2 years. After recently finishing his playing career at Morehouse, Devonte has continued to help grow Evolve. You can expect to learn from him his unique ball handling and shooting off the dribble.
